Schlusslichter

Steve and Nancy Hogan are driving from New York to Maine, where they plan to pick up their children from summer camp. The atmosphere is tense: Nancy accuses her husband of his alcoholism, which he denies – only to indulge in a drink at every stop. Amid their argument, they ignore radio reports about a dangerous criminal who has escaped from prison. Eventually, Nancy reaches her breaking point and decides to continue alone by bus. When Steve returns to his car after the next drinking stop, he finds the escaped inmate sitting inside.
