Commissioner Luc Verlain's first case in Aquitaine. Luc Verlain loves good food, women, and his carefree life in Paris. However, when his father falls seriously ill, Luc transfers to Bordeaux in the Aquitaine region, the very place he fled from as a young police officer. Back in his hometown, Luc must confront his memories. Shortly after his arrival, a murder shakes the area: a girl is found beaten to death on the beach of Lacanau-Océan. In the small village, speculation quickly runs rampant. The victim had recently ended her relationship with the Algerian boy next door, who is considered a prime suspect. The girl's stepfather wants to take matters into his own hands.
