Product details
Postmodern philosophy is nothing more than the afterlife of National Socialism in democracy (Adorno). Because the radical break with the thinking that led to Auschwitz did not occur, and because, rather, in the 1960s, attempts were made, particularly from the left in a supposedly taboo-breaking manner, to utilize National Socialist philosophy for seemingly emancipatory projects, German ideology today appears as leftist and progressive. This latest German ideology is not only a philosophical movement but also an expression of a societal trend. The postmodern practice of denouncing any general definition of concepts as logocentric and any examination of society under rational criteria as totalitarian is both a reflection of the objective uselessness of the world under the conditions of late capitalist socialization and an attempt to create meaning within those very conditions. In its cult of immediacy, poststructuralism ultimately seeks to align itself with radical Islam and betrays any idea of reconciliation. With contributions from Manfred Dahlmann, Martin Dornis, Alex Gruber, Birte Hewera, Tjark Kunstreich, Philipp Lenhard, Niklaas Machunsky, Florian Ruttner, and Gerhard Scheit.
