German, Alan Moore, 2007Product details
Alan Moore is perhaps the most esteemed author in comic literature and has received countless awards for his works such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, and Swamp Thing. He began writing comics in 1980 for the British magazines 2000 AD and Dr. Who Weekly. He then created Marvelman (published in the USA as Miracleman). He gained worldwide recognition with Batman: The Killing Joke and Superman: What Happened to the Man of Tomorrow. He is also the creative mind behind the publishing imprint America's Best Comics, with which he ventured into new territory with series like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. As one of the most significant innovators of the medium since the early 1980s, Moore has influenced an entire generation of comic creators, and his works continue to captivate a steadily growing readership, including Neonomicon and Fashion Beast. He is currently working on a CD and a novel. For a long time, he has harbored the desire to become a wizard. Alan Moore lives in Northampton, England.
David Lloyd has been drawing comics since 1977, initially adapting films and television series. His first ongoing series was Night Raven, and he has illustrated several stories featuring Dr. Who. After V for Vendetta, Lloyd drew short stories for Eclipse and Crisis stories for Fleetway. Some of his most popular works include Slaine, Aliens: Glass Corridor, Weird War Tales, Gangland, The Horrorist, Marlowe: The Graphic Novel, Hellblazer: Rare Cuts, two stories for War Story, and his first work as both writer and artist, Kickback. Among other things, Lloyd teaches comic drawing at England's only such school, the London Cartoon Center.
