Batman vs. Jack the Ripper
In a world where the legend of the Dark Knight begins in the Victorian era, Gotham is plagued by the serial killer Jack the Ripper. Batman hunts the brutal slasher in the dim light of gas lamps. After Bruce Wayne returns from Vienna, where he met Dr. Freud, he is confronted in his hometown with a series of murders targeting young women. Jack the Ripper has come to Gotham! But Batman's pursuit of the killer comes to a sudden halt when a bloody knife is found at Wayne Manor, and Bruce Wayne ends up in prison.
The Batman Noir series presents comic classics featuring the Dark Knight in black and white. The focus is on the original inked drawings, allowing the work to be experienced from a new perspective. This volume contains two Elseworlds stories that place Batman in a Gotham as it might have looked in the Victorian era—staged by Brian Augustyn, Mike Mignola, and Eduardo Barreto.
