Palast der Stille

A small cottage on an island off the eastern coast of America, in the middle of winter, in silence. A man is shoveling snow, talking to his cat, watching birds, enjoying the boredom and taking stock of his life and work so far. Later, he makes his way through the deep snow-covered forest to the pine tree in whose crown he has a lookout: to look at the world, at nature, at himself.
