Inspired by Antoni Gaudí's Parc Güell in Barcelona and the Mannerist Park of Bomarzo, Niki de Saint Phalle created her sculpture park located in southern Tuscany. In this expansive area, the 22 Arcana Maiora of the Tarot are represented as giant sculptures, ranging from 12 to 15 meters in height. Made of painted polyester and reinforced concrete, the various figures are richly adorned with mosaics, mirrors, colorful ceramic pieces, and colored glass from Murano. This fantastic fairy-tale world was the pinnacle of Saint Phalle's artistic career. The monograph, which Niki de Saint Phalle personally conceived and selected the images for, serves as a clear introduction to the garden and also provides a unique insight into her creative work.
