Criminal law insurance for companies serves to protect companies and company employees against cost risks in criminal and misdemeanour proceedings. This insurance product - which has hardly been dealt with in the literature and case law to date - is presented on the basis of standard market insurance conditions and practical problems in the organisation of criminal legal protection insurance and the handling of claims are examined. In addition to regulatory legal issues, the question of whether and to what extent costs for the representation of the company - in domestic and foreign proceedings - are covered in addition to the assumption of defence costs of company employees is examined in particular. Another focus is the distribution of the sum insured if it is not sufficient for all defence costs incurred - as is the case when several insured parties are affected.
