In our lives today, many doors are open to us. In fact, we could easily follow our dreams and lead a meaningful life. However, trapped in a fast-paced and complex everyday life full of obligations, many of us do not feel lightness and happiness, but rather pressure, stress, and hardship. Rising expectations and demands weigh heavily on our shoulders—both professionally and privately. Those who try to meet all the external, as well as their own, demands wear themselves out or even burn out. The end result: we long for balance and deceleration. To escape the vicious cycle of self-overwhelm and exhaustion, we must learn to say LMAA (Leave Me Alone, Asshole) more often in a loving and cheeky way: LMAA to unrealistic goals when they demotivate us. LMAA to our fear of failure. LMAA to the demands of others.
