Grundlagen der Gestaltung

There are many publications dedicated to creativity and all conceivable areas of design. These conventional representations certainly serve their purpose, but they are always limited to classic professions and well-known territories such as art or design.

The fundamentals of design address for the first time the crucial perspectives under which landscapes and objects, projects and products can be analyzed and discussed. Whether it involves developing a typeface, an urban concept, a visual identity, art in architecture, design, communication, or research: precise perception determines the actual problem, and from this, possible solutions emerge that are tangible, meaningful-creative, and useful, employing the appropriate methods that are specifically highlighted in the fundamentals of design.

Volume 1 deals with processes and programs of design, Volume 2 with structures and systems, Volume 3 with signs and context, and Volume 4 examines identities and differences.
