Making history tangible in the truest sense of the word - that is the goal of the Europe Cycle Route Iron Curtain. It traces the footsteps of the Cold War from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea, crossing Europe. The route not only connects European culture, history, and sustainable tourism, but also guides history-interested cyclists through diverse landscapes and the unique biotopes of the European Green Belt that emerged in the border regions. This fifth volume documents the 2,100-kilometer-long southern part of the route from the Hungarian-Serbian border near Szeged to the Bulgarian-Turkish border at the Black Sea. Cyclists ride along the Serbian-Romanian border to the Danube, largely following its course, ultimately ending at the Bulgarian-Turkish Black Sea coast through Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, and Turkey.
