A Love in the Bohemia Munich, 1902: Against all odds, the young Gabriele Münter, known as Ella, wants to become a painter. She takes lessons from Wassily Kandinsky and falls in love with him. She becomes his muse as well as his companion in the search for new forms of expression. However, while Kandinsky soon achieves worldwide fame as a master of abstraction and founder of the Blue Rider, Ella struggles throughout her life with her role as a woman in art. Then war breaks out, and their love is threatened to end tragically. Based on the true story of the great painter Gabriele Münter, who defied all the dangers of her time with her devotion to art and love.
