Product details

Following a series of attacks in Xinjiang in 2014, the Chinese government established a vast network of detention camps for ethnic minorities, primarily Muslim Uighurs and Kazakhs, in recent years. In 2017, civil servant and director of several kindergartens Sayragul Sauytbay herself falls victim to the Chinese repression apparatus, is interrogated multiple times, and is ultimately sent to a re-education camp where she is forced to teach her fellow inmates about Chinese language, culture, and politics from morning until night. The conditions are inhumane: brainwashing, torture, and rape, along with forced administration of medications that render the detainees apathetic or poison them. In 2018, Sayragul Sauytbay is released and flees to Kazakhstan. Since then, she has seen it as her mission to testify to the world about China's crimes against humanity. She aims to warn the world about Beijing's policies, which, through soft power like the Silk Road project, provide generous loans, create dependencies in other countries, and ultimately seek the subjugation of the free world. Xinjiang serves as a model— the largest surveillance state the world has ever seen, where fascism and tyranny prevail.
