Aesthetic Theory

Sandro Zanetti is a professor of General and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Zurich. He studied German studies, history, and philosophy in Basel, Freiburg im Breisgau, and Tübingen. Before moving to Zurich in 2011, he researched and taught in Frankfurt am Main, Basel, Berlin, and Hildesheim. His current research focuses on production aesthetics, the literature and art of the avant-garde, and the poetics of (un)likelihood. Sylvia Sasse is a professor of Slavic Literary Studies at the University of Zurich. She is a co-founder of the ZKK (Center for Arts and Cultural Theory), a member of the ZGW (Center for the History of Knowledge), and a co-editor of "History of the Present." Dieter Mersch was a professor of aesthetics at the Zurich University of the Arts until his retirement and is the president of the German Society for Aesthetics. He studied mathematics and philosophy in Cologne, Bochum, and Darmstadt. Mersch is a co-editor of the International Yearbook for Media Philosophy. His areas of focus include philosophical aesthetics, art theory, media philosophy, image theory, music philosophy, and continental philosophy of the 20th and 21st centuries.
