Diamantenstaub

Taha lives in Cairo. During the day, he works as a pharmaceutical representative and at night as a pharmacist. He takes care of his father, who is confined to a wheelchair and spends his days observing the lives of others through binoculars. One morning, when Taha returns home, he finds his father lifeless – he has been murdered. The police soon close their investigation, so Taha begins to search for the perpetrator himself. In doing so, he discovers the darkest sides of Cairo. He encounters cruelty and ruthlessness, but also people who believe in a change for the society destroyed by corruption and clientelism. Taha starts to see his world through different eyes. Unexpectedly, he comes across his father's diary, in which he describes the murders he once committed in the Jewish quarter of Cairo. Taha uncovers the secret of the mysterious diamond dust.
