Deutsch Ideen has been revised in light of the 2016 curriculum. Established elements have been retained, while new conceptual components contribute even more effectively to the learning success of students. A preliminary textbook quiz clarifies and facilitates students' work with the book.

Process and content-related competencies: The structure of the 2016 curriculum is reflected in the layout of the new workbook. The five sections correspond to the division into process-related and content-related competencies.

Process-related competency chapters:
1. Speaking and Listening
2. Writing
3. Reading

Content-related competency chapters:
4. Texts and Media
5. Language Use and Language Reflection

Differentiation offers: Diagnostic assessments of learning progress and differentiated learning tasks and situations based on complexity, difficulty level, and support options accompany all students in acquiring the targeted competencies.

Chapter introductions:

• New: Show the expected competency growth in the chapter – What can you learn now!

Task formats:

• New: Level- or application-oriented choice tasks
• New: Reflection tasks
• New: Differentiation offers through additional tasks

Test yourself:

• New: Self-assessment forms indicating support options also in the workbook
• New: Training pages with tips and solution hints in the appendix for individualized learning

Audio texts further enrich the offering. Students can find these in a protected area.
