Born on September 24, 1896, in St. Paul (Minnesota), died on December 21, 1940, in Hollywood, buried in Union Cemetery in Rockville. He was unhappy as a Princeton student because he did not become captain of the football team, and he was unhappy as a lover. He was in love with a whirlwind, Zelda Sayre, a beautiful, spoiled daughter from a good family. The only net with which he could have caught her was woven from money and fame. After two years in an advertising agency, Fitzgerald achieved his goal: at the age of 24, his first novel, This Side of Paradise, made him famous.
