Alles Kokolores?

Colloquial language is often mysterious. It is full of strange words - not only in the Rhineland - about which one can speculate splendidly. What is behind Fisimatenten, Fisternöll, piesacken, Nonnenfürzchen, Pitter - männchen, Kaventsmann, Kokolores, Zimtzicke, Heckmeck, abnippeln, Gesocks, Kohldampf, blümerant or Muckefuck? What exactly do they mean, where do they come from and who 'invented' them? Many stories are told about these and other words, often very imaginative, sometimes close to the truth and even more often made up out of thin air.
