What is a Denier?

A Denier is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn from which stockings and tights are made.

The lower the Denier number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or pantyhose. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the stocking and the less visible the skin.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and pantyhose in 50 and 100 Den, where the skin is hardly visible. Their use is common in autumn and winter.

Stockings and tights with a low Denier number are typically used for the spring-summer season. The rest can be used year-round, for example, for ceremonies, as the stockings appear more elegant due to their thin form.
