Freedom of movement for the dog and safety for its owner. Trailing leads are usually used as a training tool for young dogs, but can also be a good alternative to a flexible retractable lead for animals with a strong hunting instinct. The 5 to 15 metre long lead gives the dog enough freedom of movement when sniffing and rummaging around - but does not leave it to its own devices. If the dog strays from the path or wants to chase after an animal, you can bring it back at any time thanks to the robust dog lead. This gives you security and is good training if you want to let your dog run off the lead later on. A drag lead is also ideal for practising commands at a distance.
