The SunSun CHJ-600 aquarium pump is a pump with a very good efficiency of 600 l/h at only 8 watts – flow rate per watt.

When comparing the power consumption of the CHJ aquarium pump series with other aquarium pumps, it becomes clear that the trend towards energy saving has been well recognized and effectively implemented. Aquarium pumps are designed for continuous operation.

Filter pump / aquarium pump: Let the advantages of these aquarium pumps convince you. Depending on the flow rate, the aquarium pumps are particularly suitable for large or small aquariums. To prevent overflow of the filter in conjunction with these powerful pumps, we recommend using a Y-adapter. When used as a bypass, the performance can be split to another UVC aquarium clarifier or filter.

SunSun has incorporated an inflow regulation in the pump design: you can adjust the inflow to the aquarium pump continuously.

Other strengths of the CHJ aquarium pump series include very quiet motors and suitability for both freshwater and saltwater.

The flow rate of the aquarium pump must be matched to the size of the filter. An excessively high flow rate from the pump can lead to filter overflow, which should definitely be avoided. The circulation cycle of the aquarium and the residence time of the water in the filter should also be taken into account.

Depending on the intended use, the optimal circulation cycle depends on various factors: fish stock, aquatic plants, and desired water clarity. Of course, additional components of the filtration circuit may also need to be coordinated accordingly.
