Product details

Creates an ideal environment for livebearers and brackish water fish.

Safe for plants. An effective alternative to the widely used aquarium salts based on sodium chloride.

Seachem's Brackish Salt™ is a chemically pure salt mix designed to replicate the natural environment of livebearers and other brackish water fish without negatively affecting aquatic plants when used at the regionally recommended dosage. The salt is also well-suited for regular use in freshwater aquariums. It does not affect pH and does not act as a buffer.

Unlike other aquarium salts currently available to hobbyists, Brackish Salt™ is more than just a simple sodium chloride product. These other salts can burn leaves and roots in a planted aquarium. However, Brackish Salt™ does not cause such damage and even provides many nutrients essential for healthy plant growth. The dosage of Brackish Salt™ allows for the targeted replication of various brackish water environments found worldwide (such as the waters of Sumatra or Borneo). Brackish Salt™ can also be dosed for general brackish community aquariums and general freshwater community aquariums. Brackish Salt™ is a safe and effective alternative to the widely used aquarium salts based on sodium chloride.
