JBL Aquaristik und Terraristik Manado substrate

The JBL Manado substrate is a specially developed aquarium bottom made from natural clay. It provides an optimal foundation for aquarium design and promotes plant growth through its porous structure. Manado is characterized by a high pore volume, which allows for good aeration of the substrate while also supporting the colonization of beneficial bacteria. These bacteria are crucial for biological filtration in the aquarium and contribute to the stability of the ecosystem. The substrate is available in a convenient 10-liter package and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. When using it, care should be taken not to combine Manado with sand, as the sand can slip through the pores of Manado. Additionally, a thorough pre-washing of the substrate is recommended to avoid an increase in the general hardness (GH) of the water.
