Aquarium starter: Begin gradually introducing fish into newly set up aquariums 48 hours after adding JBL Denitrol. There is ongoing debate about whether fish can be introduced just one day after setting up a new aquarium. Microbiologists have found that bacteria in a new aquarium multiply very slowly if there is no water load (food for the bacteria). However, if fish are added the next day without a bacterial starter, ammonium/ammonia problems can arise because the bacteria initially multiply too slowly to keep up with the pollutant influx. When using JBL Denitrol (1 hour after adding JBL Biotopol), a high quantity of bacteria is introduced. When the first fish are added the next day, these bacteria also receive food and begin to multiply. Additionally, JBL Denitrol is added for the first 10 days, ensuring that there are always enough bacteria present, preventing any issues with ammonium/ammonia or nitrite.
