There is often discussion about whether fish can be introduced just one day after setting up a new aquarium. Microbiologists have found that bacteria in a new aquarium multiply very slowly when there is no water load (food for the bacteria) present. However, if fish are added the next day without a bacterial starter, there can be issues with ammonium and ammonia, as the bacteria initially multiply too slowly to keep up with the influx of pollutants.

By using JBL Denitrol (one hour after adding JBL Biotopol), a high quantity of bacteria is introduced. When the first fish are added the next day, these bacteria also receive food and begin to multiply. Additionally, JBL Denitrol is added during the first ten days to ensure that there are always enough bacteria present, preventing ammonium, ammonia, and nitrite from becoming a problem.
