Elk leather is one of the finest leathers in the world. Proper care and handling are very important for elk leather. It should not be exposed to extreme moisture or heavy dirt, as this can damage the leather and cause the extremely fine material to look worn quickly. For leather care, it is always advisable to remember that less is more! Elk leather is already oiled and requires only minimal re-oiling, for which a leather care oil is best suited. If the elk leather product gets wet or damp, quick drying on a heater is not advisable; instead, blotting and allowing it to dry slowly is recommended. Additionally, it is wise to ensure that no moisture remains on the metal fittings. Only with proper handling and care can the usual Hunter quality be maintained.
