ZigZagZurich Made by Rain

Rain is deeply rooted in Dutch culture. Performance artist Aliki van der Kruijs has thought about how to capture the feeling of raindrops trickling down the face and imprint it onto textiles, under the motto "Rain to wear." This has resulted in a scientific collection of meteorological facts, where the artist captures different weather conditions by laying out pre-treated, water-sensitive textiles in nature. Visual recordings of various types of rainy weather were created, ranging from light drizzle to heavy rain. This bedding records the rain that fell from the sky in Amsterdam on Thursday, April 5, 2012.
