Yankee Candle. Mike Kittredge was sitting at home at the kitchen table on a cold December evening. Christmas was approaching, and he had no money to buy his mother a nice gift. He decided to create a unique candle inspired by his creativity. A neighbor saw the candle and immediately wanted it. He sold it and bought new materials to make more candles—one for his mother and one for sale. This is how the wonderful brand Yankee Candle was born.
