Umbra Flip

David Quan designs a wall coat rack for the Canadian brand Umbra that can be used not only in the hallway but also in the kitchen. The elegantly rounded body, made of metal or wood, initially appears to have a striped pattern, which upon closer inspection reveals itself to be metal coat hooks. These hooks can be easily pressed down to hang a jacket, bag, or dish towel, but snap back nearly flush into the body when not in use. Whether equipped with three, five, or eight coat hooks, the Flip hook rack by Umbra makes optimal use of available space as a wall coat rack in the hallway and bedroom, as well as a kitchen hook for dish towels.
