Product details

The French artist Edgar Degas was multi-talented and created numerous works. He achieved remarkable results in various techniques such as sculpture, graphic art, oil painting, and pastel. Although portraiture and the human figure were central to Degas' painting, ballet was one of his favorite themes.

This is also evident in the many motifs depicting dancers before, during, and after their performances. The painting "Two Dancers" shows two ballerinas during a break. The original hangs in the Gemäldegalerie in Dresden and was created around 1898. It was painted in pastel on paper.
