Tojo Stell

Stell shelving system, basic unit. A simple yet ingenious shelving system with a striking visual effect created by the combination of open and closed back panels, designed by the Eigenwert design team for the ever-innovative furniture company Tojo. The varied interplay of closed and open surfaces is created by the mounting brackets, which can be inserted into the rear guide groove facing either to the right or left as required and covered by the next shelf. The height of each shelf compartment is 30.5 cm; the width varies from 30.5 cm through 61 cm to 91.5 cm, depending on the position of the mounting brackets. By adding further extension units to a base unit, there is no upper limit to the height of the Stell shelving system – it ranges from a sideboard (height approx. 79 cm, comprising one base unit and one extension unit) to an archive wall (height approx. 184 cm, comprising one base unit and, for example, four extension units). Pictured is an extension unit that requires a base unit as a support surface. As is customary with Tojo, the Stell shelving system is assembled without tools such as screwdrivers or Allen keys. The base unit and each additional extension unit are simply slotted into and stacked on top of one another without the need for any further fastenings. Thanks to its impeccably finished rear panel, the Tojo shelving system is also ideal for use as a room divider and can easily be expanded into a stylistically cohesive small office with the optionally available freestanding or wall-mounted side table serving as a desk.
