Quiet sweep movement
A sweep movement is nearly silent, as the seconds and minute hands move almost imperceptibly due to a finer gear ratio. Since there are minimal mechanical forces acting on the hands, the clock noise is greatly reduced. It can only be heard when you place your ear close to the movement.
