Product details
The design of the Okiru alarm clock by Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake is intentionally simple and understated. In Japanese, "okiru" means "to wake up." Since the alarm clock is the first thing one sees upon waking, the designer aimed to create a straightforward, functional object that allows for a relaxed start to the day. The design combines function and color. Set the alarm using a dial on the back of the clock – it has the same color as the alarm hand and the marker that is positioned at the top when the alarm is set. The clock is silent and features a snooze function that is activated by a light touch. With the same gentle pressure, you can also turn on a soft light to read the time at night.
