Tools as handles and hooks are now becoming trendy in humorous industrial design: Simon Legald is deeply engaged with fine mechanics, such as analog clocks, for the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen. The gears of these clocks inspire the distinctive ribbing of the wall hooks, but only on the side surfaces of the relatively flat cylindrical shape. The advantage? Clothes tossed casually onto the hooks are more likely to stay in place due to the ribbing. Additionally, Simon Legald has invested in a new plastic blend, whose granular texture is created by the addition of wood fibers. The resulting matte warm surface allows the Chip coat hook from Normann Copenhagen to be used anywhere – from the hallway to the bedroom to the kitchen.
