For an effective blackout effect, we recommend choosing dark curtains in black, gray, dark blue, or green, as these colors block sunlight particularly well, creating darkness in the room. If you prefer curtains in light colors such as white, ecru, or beige, we recommend complementing them with a thermal lining to shield against light. Light colors can always allow a bit of light to penetrate, especially in south-facing windows. In this case, using the lining will achieve effective blackout.
