Kartell Intavola Shibuya

With the Shibuya vases by Christophe Pillet, Kartell is embarking on a very special experiment. The plastic becomes valuable, rich, and deep, as if it were actually Murano glass. The lid of the Shibuya vases features a lock. When the lid is removed, Shibuya transforms into a practical bowl, thus leaving behind its purely decorative function. One of the unique aspects of this project, in addition to its versatility, is that the vase has two colored stripes, yet the surface of the material remains uninterrupted, ensuring perfect waterproofing. The color is the standout feature of this project: the intensity and depth of the color, combined with the density of the plastic material, make Shibuya a particularly valuable object, even when produced on an industrial scale and sold at an affordable price.
