From the Pen of the Boss

The furniture was designed by Anna Castelli-Ferrieri, who served as chief designer at her own company, Kartell, starting in the mid-1960s. The native Milanese completed her architecture studies in 1943 and married Giulio Castelli after graduation. The couple founded the furniture manufacturer in 1949. Professionally, Anna Castelli-Ferrieri initially focused on urban planning and architecture. Among other projects, she also designed the main office of her company in Binasco, Italy. She began working as a designer in the mid-1960s and served as chief designer in her own company. Until the 1990s, she also taught industrial design at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Her works are characterized by a round shape and a clear line.
