The Calice vase was designed by Ettore Sottsass for Kartell in 2004. Calice means chalice in Italian, and its shape indeed resembles one. With its downward tapering, the Calice visually appears somewhat upside down. The vividly colored thermoplastic technopolymer catapults the vase straight into the modern era.
