Downpass:
To be allowed to seal products with the Downpass, manufacturers must ensure that only down and feathers from controlled animal husbandry are used.

For a successful Downpass audit, on-site inspections are carried out on the rearing farms, both announced and unannounced. Caging and stuffing are prohibited, and any type of feather collection from live animals is prohibited. Adequate housing, sufficient supply of feed and fresh water, protection of the animals from diseases and natural enemies, and care by knowledgeable staff are basic requirements for passing the audit.
