Columbus Royal

The invention of lithography in the 19th century revolutionised map production. The schematic nature of woodcuts and copperplate engravings gave way to the coloured appearance of drawn maps - in large editions. The Royal combines the nostalgic feel of old map styles with current data. Its warm map image meets the political world view. In 2015, it received the German Manufactory Seal of Approval as Manufactory Product of the Year, and in 2018, the ITB travel trade fair honoured it with the Book Award for outstanding publishing achievements. The Royal: 21st century scientific expertise in 19th century guise. The steadfast detail: a globe needs a firm hold to be fully effective. With the Regent base design, the table model rests on a flat-edged brass metal base with a leather cover and rotates in a solid brass metal meridian.
