Product details

"Cronotime," a table clock made of thermoplastic plastic, was designed by Pio Manzù in 1966 and was first included in the Alessi catalog in 1988. It is now presented again in black. E. Fratelli describes it as follows: This battery-operated clock, originally designed as a gift item for Fiat and later put into production in 1968 for Ritz-Italora, embodies both the essence of an instrument and a toy, showcasing a constant essentiality in its lines, simplicity, and economy that has characterized the brief yet dense work of this designer, particularly in relation to the automobile. "Cronotime" takes the form of a toroidal section corresponding to 1/6 of the circumference of a circle. The shape is divided into two equal parts that can be twisted against each other, allowing the position of the dial to be varied in relation to the base. The dial can also be freely rotated.
