In 1997, the legendary anonymous notebook, which had been produced for over 100 years by a French manufacturer in Tours and had carried the sketches and stories of many artists and intellectuals, was revived by a Milanese publisher. The name is attributed to the British writer Bruce Chatwin, who preferred these simple black notebooks from the French paper manufacturer for his work and affectionately called them Moleskin (mole skin).
