This simple and classic checkered notebook is one of the most popular and best-selling notebooks from Moleskine. In 1997, the legendary, anonymous notebook, which had been produced for over 100 years by a French manufacturer in Tours and had been the carrier of sketches and stories for many artists and intellectuals, was revived by a Milanese publisher. The name is attributed to the British writer Bruce Chatwin, who preferred these simple black notebooks from the French paper manufacturer for his work and affectionately called them Moleskin.
