The nib of the 849 fountain pen made of glossy black plastic fits perfectly in the hand. The barrel is made of aluminum and has a hexagonal shape. The clip is made of flexible steel. The nib is made of solid stainless steel. The new design features a distinctive emblem. The Caran d'Ache isotype is engraved on the button.
