Pride and prejudice

England in the 19th century. "It is a universally acknowledged truth that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife!" This is also the thought of the five Bennet daughters: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. They must marry rich, or else the family inheritance is at risk. Jane, the eldest sister, quickly falls in love with the wealthy Mr. Bingley. Meanwhile, the proud Elizabeth feels nothing but disdain for his equally rich and best friend, Mr. Darcy. He comes across as arrogant and full of prejudices against the middle class. A clear case for Elizabeth: marriage is out of the question! She would rather choose the charming Mr. Wickham, a declared adversary of Mr. Darcy. But is he really as sincere as he appears? And perhaps Mr. Darcy is not as contemptible as he seems.
