Question 1: What is the diameter of the unit at the top opening? 2nd question: Can I also use standard glass for heating massage oil?

1. The upper opening has a diameter of just under 9.5cm. The opening is a total of 8cm deep but tapers to a diameter of just over 7.5cm halfway down.
2. the water in the jar gets very hot when heated. I would therefore only use a glass that can withstand high temperature fluctuations.
