This safety gate is therefore ideal for around a fireplace. If the gate is used as a fireplace gate, it should always be placed at least 75 cm from the heat source/fire and at least 90 cm from the open fire. As every fireplace/wood-burning stove reaches different temperatures, the positioning should only be used as a guide and the appliance should be tested at maximum heat output before the gate is installed. If the door feels hot to the touch, it should be placed further away from the heat source than the recommended minimum distance.
