I clearly do not recommend using a Black for a NAS. The Black is not designed for continuous operation, but for faster data access. This has no great influence on a NAS, as it is not used for games, for example. That is why it is used for PCs.
For a NAS, you should use the Red. It offers clear advantages there! It is designed for continuous operation.
To the actual question: Yes, this is the same disk. Here it is simply called Black. Sata 8 in the name has nothing to do with Sata III or other SATA connections. It is the designation of the model of the hard drive (i.e. not as mentioned by Dr.markus0).
It's a SATA 3 disk, not 8. As far as I know, several WD hard drives are called Caviar. My model is the Black, which is designed for 24-hour operation, but not for server or NAS operation. Special software is needed there. Only the WD Raidedition, the WD Red and Red Pro, maybe the Purple have this. Normally, the WD Blue is called Caviar and is less suitable for NAS. You have to reckon with increased failure rates during continuous operation. In terms of durability, the WD Blacks are good with a 5-year warranty. Mine runs next to an SSD in a PC, not NAS.
