Question about Plustek OpticFilm 8200i Ai
The reviews say that you can update the software to version 9 free of charge. In my case, this is only possible for money. Does anyone have a tip?

I don't know, I haven't tried that.
I was also extremely annoyed (no, actually my adrenaline is still pumping after hours) that they sell a scanner with software that was released in 2011. Silverfast 9 has been available since 2020 and I really assumed that I would be able to upgrade to the current version at no extra cost.
With Silverfast, the HW bundle with the Plustek scanner includes the current version, but Plustek, or should I say Digitec, sells the old "junk".
This is simply not correct and I was not able to activate the new version without paying 174€.
In retrospect, I am annoyed with myself, because I should have returned the device.

The update to version 9 worked for me without any problems. However, it must be done within 2 months of purchase.
It cost me more than 200 CHF.
