The card immediately gets 84 degrees hot under load and the hot spot is over 90 degrees.is that normal?only when i limit the frames to 60 frames does it get a little cooler.but that can't be it.can i fix the heat problem with the fan settings?or does anyone have an idea or a tip.it's my first gaming pc and i don't have much knowledge.am grateful for any help....
Hello Philip Your temperature seems very high to me too. In normal gaming, the temp is around 60° for me, goes up to max. 80° for a short time, then down again. In 3DMark "TimeSpy", the card is utilised to almost 100% over several minutes, total power of the board around 360 watts, and the temperature settles at around 65°. I would send the card back for repair or replacement.
Hi Philip, to reassure you, the temperature difference between the chip and the hotspot is normal. at 6 Crad very good. Unfortunately you are right, the temperature also seems a bit too high to me. There are, of course, a huge number of negative factors. e.g. "non-existent housing airflow, is one of the most common" "Assembly error" ex works. My tip for you is to contact support. "GALAXUS or Sapphire", it could well be that the thermal pads or the thermal paste or even the contact pressure are not in order. I would only consider the tip from dasmuh88 as a "plan B". As an alternative in the AMD software under Performance - Configuration, please set this at your own risk. Voltage: set to 1100 in mV. Power limit: set to -10%. Set zero rpm to deactivated. Export these changes as a profile and save. Please make sure that there are enough fans in the system and that they are working.

Unfortunately, it is well known that the RX7900s are not very energy efficient. In other words, a lot of waste heat for the performance...at least compared to the Nvidia cards. However, with "undervolting" you will certainly be able to get something out of it in terms of temperature without losing much performance. If I'm not mistaken, this should be quite easy to do with the RDNA3 tool. Otherwise, do a quick search on Reddit / Youtube...there are certainly suitable instructions there.
